Chlorine
Chlorine is the most widely used pool sanitation chemical and comes in liquid, granular and tablet form. Liquid is mainly used on indoor pools with automated systems and as a shock treatment for both indoor and outdoor pools, while tablets and granules are used on outdoor pools due to the stabiliser that is often present in them. The stabiliser prevents the sunlight removing the chlorine too rapidly.
